Eco-Champs Hackathon

Eco-Champs Hackathon is a contest that encourages young minds to think critically about environmental problems and find an actionable, sustainable solution to tackle them. This year’s competition focuses on some real-time environmental crises that all are facing!
  • One trillion single-use plastic bags are used annually across the globe. That’s nearly 2 million every minute. These are majorly used by small businesses like vegetable & food stalls vendors for carrying vegetables and packing food.  More Information
  • It’s estimated that around 70% of surface water in India is unfit for consumption. Every day, almost 40 million liters of wastewater enters rivers and other water bodies with only a tiny fraction adequately treated.   More Information
  • A recent study published in Environment International Science Journal found that 25% of children’s toys have harmful chemicals in them. They found that soft plastic toys are the most likely to contain harmful additives. Painted toys also pose a risk as they may contain traces of lead.  More Information
  • All these products mentioned above have toxic elements present in them. Which also degrade the health of humans in some way or the other. We are unwillingly dependent on these products as we have very limited sustainable solutions available in the market that are pocket-friendly.

To solve these real-time problems we want our young problem solvers to come up with practical solutions to reduce the dependencies on these conventional and single-use resources and come up with product ideas that are environmentally friendly and healthy for human use.

Wear your thinking hats and find a sustainable solution for these problems & win exciting prizes.
