The second wave of COVID put tremendous pressure on India’s public health system. Bhumi’s COVID relief work is reviving the healthcare facilities with the support of its donors. With the benevolent support of Zoom Rx we donated medical equipment worth Rs 15 lakhs to the pediatric ward of Stanley Medical College Hospital, Chennai. The equipment includes a pediatric ventilator, multipara monitors, vein finders, Ambu bags, humidifier etc
In July 2021, the 140-bed pediatric ward was inaugurated by the health minister of TN Mr. Ma Subramanian. This unit inside Stanley Medical College Hospital is fully equipped to treat children from COVID-19. Earlier Bhumi has also donated a liquid oxygen tank to the hospital supported by another corporate.
Chennai is now a bit more prepared for the third wave expected to impact children adversely.
Bhumi is also working to establish permanent oxygen infrastructure across Tamil Nadu. In districts far from the metros, this will help in the long run for other respiratory/lung diseases too.
“The destruction of lives, livelihoods, and families caused by COVID 2nd wave broke our hearts and we wanted to help our communities prepare better for future waves. With this in mind, we at ZoomRx allocated a relief fund of ₹75 lakhs to improve health infrastructure and to support the education of children who have tragically lost one or sometimes both their parents to COVID. As part of this effort, we are happy to partner with Stanley Medical Hospital, an institution that has public service as its core mission, and donate respiratory equipment worth ₹15 lakhs to their pediatric ward.”Siva, Director- ZoomRx
