Project in Bhumi: Yantra (Robotics)
Volunteering Period: 2017 onwards
Tell us a little about yourself!
I am an engineering graduate and currently working in Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai as Junior Engineer. I am passionate about sports and teaching. Love to be always surrounded by people and to help the needy as much as I can.
How did volunteering with Bhumi happen?
It was availability of time during weekends and I was new in the city also. Wanted to make new friends and do some productive work on weekend. So registered on site of Bhumi and attended Orientation. Started with project Yantra; it has been almost 8 months now and I am looking forward for more.
What change did these experiences bring in your life? How has Bhumi altered you, personally?
Never apply any rules to your imagination. This is what I learnt from kids.
One most memorable incident in your life as a Bhumian:
On my second class one kid lovingly asked me if I would come agin. His eagerness to see me in next class was so pleasing; Feels great to be connected with kids and getting their response more than your expectations.
Tell us about one Bhumian, who has been an inspiration:
Everyone here is inspiration because of their noble thought to serve society. But Satheesh Ravi has been good inspiration for me; His calmness, dedication and ability to handle any situation is commendable.
Any specific, special moment with kids or volunteers you would like to share with us?
It was the event of gift distribution at Bothello Homes – To engage kids in some activity I performed small skit there and they enjoyed it very much. Their laughter on the jokes shared and the happiness after receiving gifts as their wishes were fulfilled, these were priceless!
A message to every volunteer at Bhumi:
Never leave a path you have chosen to create a better society for next generation. You are the one who is working on better cause to generate best results.
