I am a Psychology honors student. I love making people happy and I am an optimist.
How did volunteering with Bhumi happen? (including beginning, which project you volunteered for)?
I have been volunteering in Bhumi since 2016, my first project was an Audio book recording drive for the blind. It was an amazing experience.
What change did these experiences bring in your life? How has Bhumi altered you, personally?
I personally became more sensitive towards the needs of people. It enhanced my outlook towards life and made me a better person.
One most memorable incident in your life as a Bhumian
In the sandwich sewa event which was held during Daan Utsav, we made a lot of sandwiches in the kitchen of a gurudwara. There were so many volunteers. We all were talking and having a great time while making sandwiches !
Tell us about one Bhumian, who has been an inspiration
Karandeep sir has been a great inspiration to me. He shows great support and even helps us a lot. He encourages us to do things and listens to our every problem.
Any specific, special moment with kids or volunteers you would like to share with us?
During our trip to the zoo, we sang songs and danced with children in the bus.

True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done, the zest of creating things new. Make people smile and keep doing what you are doing.
What motivates you to keep volunteering at Bhumi?
The happiness I witness on the faces of people and children. The inner satisfaction of making a difference in someone’s life.
What do you feel most proud of as a Bhumian?
Teaching kids so that they can have a bright future. Fulfilling their zeal to learn new things.
Why did you choose to volunteer at Bhumi?
It gives so much time to teaching children on a weekly basis. It gives unconditional support.
What’s the most unexpected benefit you got out of volunteering at Bhumi?
Exposure to many different kinds of situation. Getting to interact with so many people.
