Tell us a little about yourself!

I am an Independent woman. I believe that happiness comes from within and it cannot be borrowed or lent. So I exude happiness and spread it around to others around me.

How did volunteering with Bhumi happen?

I found out about Bhumi through social media. I have indulged in volunteering with this huge organisation after that. I am proud to be a part of RTE and contributing for the education of children.

Share your experience in the RTE campaigns event that you have been actively participating in.

 The core idea of the campaign is to spread awareness about RTE. I was thrown by the ignorance towards RTE when most of the people did not know about the existence of that provision. We took this opportunity to reach the door step of each and every people who needed it the most. It also gave me a chance to work with fellow Bhumians as a team, which was a wonderful experience.

What change did these experiences bring in your life? How has Bhumi altered you, personally?

These experiences were truly life changing. I was able to understand the hardships of a certain section of our society and how the answer to their struggle was education of their children. Their family would grow only by educating their next generation which was possible through RTE.

 Tell us about one Bhumian, who has been an inspiration:

Everyone in the team supported the cause. I personally got inspired by Amuthasanthi akka who managed her personal life, her career as a nurse while being a part for other welfare activities. She was ceaselessly thinking of doing her best for others.

Any specific, special moment with kids or volunteers you would like to share with us?

There were many special moments. During one of our campaigns, a kid asked me if she will get an admission in school to study like others. I could see the child’s hope in her eyes and interest in education and I couldn’t help but tear up for her that instance. They are all deserving children whose life will take a turn if they obtained education.

A message to every volunteer at Bhumi:

Education will transform and develop an entire generation. My only wish for every volunteer is for them to continue doing their part no matter. Let us all work to turn a child’s dream into reality.
