On Feb 29, 2020, Teachers’ Fest was conducted for 37 teachers from Bhumi’s School Transformation Program. The objective was to ignite improved teaching practices through discussions, workshops, and immersive learning.
Dr. R. Rajammal, a renowned teacher and recipient of the National Award for Teachers offered triggers on teaching with leadership principles and what great impact a teacher could make in their students’ life. This kindled the hearts and minds of the teachers and motivated them to a great extent.
Followed by this there were exclusive sessions on Mathematics and Science handled by experts. Simple innovative practices that could be adopted to deliver fun-filled interactive classes were demonstrated. In the latter half, Bhumi’s facilitators displayed models and innovative Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) to explain a few concepts from every subject.
Following which, the “Makers Space” was made open to teachers. Each group came up with innovative TLMs explaining intermediate and advanced topics in an easy-to-understand manner.
Most of the teachers exclaimed that the day was useful with immense learning. They also opened up to adopt new strategies and teaching methodologies in their curriculum.
