“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.”
Teaching is probably the most rewarding and selfless career. Every moment inside a classroom gives a teacher an opportunity to influence children by spreading the gift of knowledge. But, being a good teacher is no easy feat; and the job involves more than just creating lesson plans and dishing out homework assignments.
It’s a dynamic, reflective, and constantly evolving journey of learning – through their own reading, by engaging in professional development, by listening to their students, by sharing ideas with their colleagues, and by reflecting on classroom interactions.
In an effort to offer teachers a tool to improve learning outcomes through quality resources, Bhumi has partnered with Katha on Ratha, a bilingual reading program that aims to break barriers in learning through enjoyable stories & engaging activities, helping them blossom into lifelong learners. The core focus of the program is to improve the reading, comprehension, critical thinking skills & creativity of the children.
“To reach a child’s mind, first reach a child’s heart.”
With the training received, our teachers, who are now reading coaches, have remodelled the classrooms as learning spaces for children from different learning groups like kinesthetic, tactile and visual to be able to respond effectively. Use of interesting teaching aids, effective worksheets & games reflect a new creative edge in them.
We are hopeful that our children will soon graduate from Beginner to Story level reading & learning.
